1. Who we are

UsualTasks ("we", "us", "our") provides a social media analytics and reporting tool operated from Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

2. Information we collect

• Account information: name, email address, and password (stored as a securely hashed value, never in plain text).
• Connected social media data: when you connect an Instagram or Facebook account, we access performance metrics (reach, impressions, engagement, follower counts) via Meta's Graph API, using the access token you explicitly authorize. We do not access your posts, messages, or personal content beyond aggregate performance metrics.
• Manually uploaded data: if you upload a CSV export, we process the metrics contained in that file to generate your report.
• Usage data: basic technical information such as log data and device/browser information, used for security and troubleshooting.
• Payment information: if you subscribe to a paid plan, payment is processed by our third-party payment provider. We do not store your full card details on our servers.

3. How we use your information

• To generate the performance reports you request
• To generate AI-written summaries and recommendations, which involves sending your (anonymized where possible) metrics to Anthropic's Claude API for processing
• To operate, maintain, and improve the service
• To communicate with you about your account, including password resets
• To process payments for paid subscriptions
• To comply with legal obligations

4. Third parties we work with

We share data with the following categories of service providers, solely to operate UsualTasks:

• Meta Platforms, Inc. — to retrieve the social media metrics you authorize
• Anthropic — to generate AI-written report summaries
• Our hosting and database providers — to run and store the application securely
• Our email provider — to send transactional emails (e.g. password resets)
• Our payment processor — to handle subscription billing

We do not sell your personal information to third parties, and we do not use your data for advertising purposes.

5. Data security

Social media access tokens are encrypted at rest. Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text. Data is transmitted over encrypted (HTTPS) connections. No system is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take reasonable, industry-standard measures to protect your information.

6. Data retention and deletion

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us. Connected social media access can be revoked at any time from your Meta account settings, which immediately prevents us from accessing further data.

7. Your rights

Depending on applicable law, including the UAE's Personal Data Protection Law (Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, and to object to certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us using the details below.

8. Cookies

We use essential cookies required for authentication and to keep you signed in. We do not currently use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

9. Children's privacy

UsualTasks is intended for business use by marketers and is not directed at individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or a notice within the app.
